The only flame-rated grade we print — a flame-retardant PC/ABS whose base resin carries a UL94 V-0 rating at 1.5 mm, so it self-extinguishes rather than sustaining a flame. 60 MPa tensile strength, a 125 °C heat deflection temperature and 10% elongation at break. RYSE 3D prints PC-FR in a dedicated high-temperature chamber, 340 × 320 × 340 mm, with instant online pricing on a grade most bureaux quote by hand.

Wherever a plastic part shares space with power, heat sources or ignition risk — and a specification, an insurer or a safety case demands a rating.

Cell carrier — 18650 battery pack housing

Power supply extension housing — vented, with high-current connectors

Dev board case — protective electronics enclosure
Most engineering plastics are specified on strength or heat. PC-FR is specified on what happens when something goes wrong. It is the only grade in our FDM range whose base resin carries a UL94 V-0 flame rating — self-extinguishing, non-dripping, and the material you reach for when a casing sits next to a power supply, a battery pack or a motor, and the failure mode you are designing against is fire rather than fracture.
Underneath the rating it is a genuinely usable engineering blend: 60 MPa tensile strength, a 125 °C heat deflection temperature and 10% elongation at break — far more ductile than either of the carbon grades that share its chamber. Printed in our dedicated high-temperature chamber and finished in-house, with 1–3 day express turnaround available.

The V-0 rating is reported by the supplier for the base resin at 1.5 mm. It is not automatic certification of a finished printed part — geometry, wall thickness and process all matter. Tell us the thickness that must be rated and we’ll confirm it against the supplier certification with your quote.
Upload your CAD, pick FDM PC-FR and see the price immediately — no enquiry form, no waiting on a quote from an engineer. Instant online pricing on a UL94 V-0 grade is rare; most bureaux treat flame-retardant work as a special.

The only flame-rated grade in our FDM range, rated V-0 at 1.5 mm. Self-extinguishing where an unrated plastic would keep burning.
10% elongation at break — several times either carbon grade in the same chamber. Enclosures get handled and knocked, and this one gives rather than cracks.
Comfortable inside warm enclosures, next to power supplies and enclosed electronics.
PC-based blends need real chamber heat to print without warping or splitting. Ours is dedicated to it.
Flame-retardant parts priced the moment you upload the CAD — not days later.
Bead blasted, smoothed, primed or A-class painted — one team prints, finishes and inspects it.

| Design feature | Typical guideline |
|---|---|
| Build envelope (FDM) | 340 × 320 × 340 mm — our dedicated high-temperature chamber |
| Rated wall thickness | The supplier reports V-0 at 1.5 mm on the base resin — tell us the thickness that must be rated and we’ll confirm it |
| Turnaround | 1–3 days express available |
| Bigger than the bed? | Split, print, bond & inspect the finished assembly — note that bonded joints are not covered by the flame rating |
| Load orientation | Strongest in-plane — we orient load paths at quote |
| Drying | PC-based blends are moisture-sensitive before printing — we dry filament in-house as standard |
| Finish | Bead blasted, smoothed, primed or A-class painted in-house |
Engineering materials are picked on what they can’t do as much as what they can. If any of these apply, we’ll spec you a better grade — free, with your quote.
At 60 MPa this is the softest grade in our high-temperature chamber. Where the part carries real load, PA6-CF (109 MPa) or PPA-CF (98 MPa, the strongest we print) are the rigid picks.
A 125 °C heat deflection temperature is the lowest of our three chamber grades — PC-FR is in there because a PC-based blend needs heat to print, not because it beats the others in service. For hot tooling, PET-CF holds 205 °C.
PC/ABS yellows and embrittles under prolonged UV. For enclosures that live outside, ASA is the UV-stable grade — though note it carries no flame rating.
FDM layer lines limit how crisp a flame-rated part can be. For smooth, detailed V-0 parts, our UL94 V-0 SLA resin is the better process.
Flame-retardant does not mean static-dissipative — PC-FR is insulative. For handling sensitive electronics, use our dedicated ESD resin.
PC/ABS is attacked by many solvents, fuels and strong alkalis. Tell us what the part will see and we’ll check compatibility before you order.
All three print in our high-temperature chamber, so lead times and part sizes match. PC-FR wins two rows — the flame rating and, by a wide margin, ductility. If ignition is your constraint, the first of those decides the part on its own. For stiffness, PPA-CF; for sustained heat and humidity, PET-CF; for large flame-rated assemblies, ask about our V-0 SLA resin. Full range on all FDM materials.
