PETG-CF is carbon-filled PETG, and it is on this list for one reason: rigidity. Chopped carbon fibre stiffens the polymer so a bracket or fixture holds its shape under a steady load instead of creeping, and it gives the matte black finish people associate with technical parts.
Read the spec table below carefully, though, because the numbers do not tell that story. Stiffness is a modulus property, and the four figures we publish — tensile strength, elongation, heat deflection and impact — do not measure it. Against ABS and ASA, PETG-CF does not lead any of those four. What it offers is carbon reinforcement and dimensional steadiness that unfilled styrenics cannot match.
The hard constraint is heat. A 74 °C heat deflection temperature is the lowest in our FDM range, so this is an ambient-temperature material. Warm the part and it softens — at which point PET-CF, one letter away and nearly three times the heat resistance, is the grade you actually want.

PETG is far less prone to the shrinkage and warp that make wide flat styrenic parts awkward, and the fibre loading steadies it further.

This grade has a narrower window than most of our range, and we would rather set it out plainly than have a part soften on you. Any of these apply, and we’ll spec the better grade free with your quote.
74 °C is the lowest heat deflection temperature we print. One letter away, PET-CF holds 205 °C — nearly three times as much — and is the direct step up for the same kind of fixture.
At 15.7 kJ/m² this is the least impact-tough grade in the general-purpose group. Where parts get dropped or knocked, ABS (21.5) or ASA (19.6) absorb far more.
Carbon-filled is not the same as strong: 35 MPa is a light-duty figure. For load-bearing brackets, PA6-GF (80 MPa) or PA6-CF (109 MPa) are the grades that carry it.
PETG-CF is not UV-stabilised, and the 74 °C ceiling makes direct summer sun a genuine risk on a dark part. Outdoors, use ASA.
10.4% elongation is mid-range and the fibre makes it less forgiving still. For snap-fits and living hinges, ABS at 10.5% is the more suitable grade.
No flame rating. Where ignition is the constraint, specify PC-FR flame retardant polycarbonate, our only UL94 V-0 grade.
Worth being blunt: across the four figures we publish, PETG-CF does not top a single column. It wins on the row that is not a number — carbon reinforcement, and the rigidity and dimensional steadiness that come with it. Pick it when a fixture has to hold its shape at room temperature. Pick ABS when cost and toughness matter more, ASA when it is going outside, and PET-CF the moment heat enters the brief. Full range on all FDM materials.
