A part straight off the bed is not a product. It has layer lines, a chalky powder-bed surface or witness marks where supports were. For a functional prototype that is fine. For something a customer sees, touches or relies on in service, it is the last 10% of the job that decides whether it reads as manufactured or as printed.
We finish in-house, on the same site that prints, across both FDM and powder-bed parts — which matters, because a bureau that only runs powder beds can only finish powder-bed parts. Two capabilities are worth singling out: shot blast polishing, which takes SLS parts well beyond the chalky as-printed surface and is the best possible preparation for dyeing, and A-class painting to automotive show-surface standard, which almost no printing bureau offers. Most finishes complete within 24–72 hours of printing — and we can carry a job all the way through to a finished, assembled unit, so parts arrive ready to fit rather than ready to build.
And you do not have to have printed with us. We will finish parts made elsewhere, provided they meet our material and size requirements.

Finishing is not magic and it is not free. Knowing where it stops saves you money and disappointment.
It works on ABS, ASA, nylon and TPU. It is not available for every grade we print — polycarbonate and carbon-filled PETG among them — so if a glossy sealed finish is essential, choose the material with that in mind and talk to us before you commit.
It evens out and matts the surface, but FDM layer lines need vibro polishing, vapour smoothing or filling and paint to genuinely disappear.
Dye needs porous nylon to absorb into, so FDM and SLA parts cannot be dyed at all — those go to paint. We run black, and dye cannot hit a RAL or Pantone reference. The full picture is on the black dyeing page.
Any process that adds a coating or reflows a surface can affect a fit. Tell us which dimensions matter before finishing, not after, and we will plan and inspect around them.
A part with the wrong wall thickness or a poor build orientation will still be wrong once it is glossy. We would rather correct the design at quote — that review is free.
Dyed and painted parts can be matched closely, but exact matching to an existing moulded component across every batch and material is something we will assess honestly per project.
A finish is a real operation with real hours in it. Where a raw printed part will do the job, we will tell you to save the money.
